Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
A huge thank you to Wilf, Eliza and Mrs Rose for creating a wonderful outdoor run for Pebbles in one of the beds in Ruby's Garden. They have made a sand pit, used some hard surfaces to help wear down his claws, and provided a small shelter. Across the wall, they have planted lambs lettuce and watercress...both of which will keep him happily fed in the coming months. The last job will be to make a chicken-wire lid so he can be left outside alone without being at risk from the red kites!
Our ten chicks are growing well and enjoying the chatter of the classroom! They weren't too keen on the fire alarm test and ended up huddling together underneath the warming lamp.
They will stay with us until the end of the summer term when they will be taken to their long-term home.
It was all go in school today as the news filtered through that our chicks had started to hatch. With one little damp offering this morning, we ended up with nine balls of fluff by the end of the day...such excitement! Let's see if tomorrow brings more!
It was great to see Mrs Watts back in shcool to run her popular Beekeepers Club. The school now has three working hives which bodes well for all our honey-lovers.
It is so lovely to see netball club and families with pupils past, present and future enjoying our grounds after school...a flavour of the summer to come!
The whole school was awash with red, white and blue today as we had an early celebration of the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
The PTA organised a fabulous street party with bunting, yummy food and party games. They even crowned Mrs Latimer before a big singalong of the National Anthem. Some families also purchased our special Coronation Tea Towel.
Thank you to everyone who made it such a special day to remember.
Well done to the eleven children who came along to sing at The Bradfield May Fayre. They sang their hearts out and had a great time visiting the various stalls and sideshows. It's so lovely to have this event back in the calendar...a lovely warm-up for the Englefield Flower Show and Summer Fete on July 1st.
