And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on him. Luke 2:40
Our new worship group (Eddie, Gregor, Isabella, Maisy, Olivia and TJ) spent a day at All Saints church in Bucklebury with children from 4 other schools learning how to provide meaningful worship in schools. We look forward to using these ideas in our school assemblies.
The worship group met to plan the prayer tables for this term and to decide which assemblies they would be responsible for. They are also going to start supporting other KS2 pupils with their Key Stage assemblies to ensure they are interesting and meaningful.
The worship group has made a plan of objects and pictures to put on the prayer tables each week to promote reflection on the theme.
The worship group has already started leading whole school worship. After each one of their assemblies, we meet together as a group to talk about the many positives and to make a 'next step' plan.
The group has already created a new prayer table for the hall which enables the children to have a focus for reflection. They have also decided on some 'call and response' to include in our acts of worship.
At the start of each assembly the following will be said:
This is the day that the Lord has made
Let us rejoice and be glad in it
Before a Bible reading we will say:
Your word is a lamp to our feet
And a light to our path
