Welcome

About us

Welcome to Englefield CE Primary School and thank you for taking an interest in us.

Englefield is a very special place; it combines high academic standards, a broad curriculum including many extra-curricular activities, a variety of opportunities for learning out of the classroom and a true sense of community in which our pupils can grow in confidence, knowing they are valued. The great joy of being a small school is that we all know each other really well so the children quickly become part of a big family, often being cared for by the older pupils at break times.

We are extremely fortunate to be situated within the Englefield Estate with its beautiful woodland and deer park. We have strong links with the Estate which means the children get many opportunities to go outside for their learning; activities include woodland learning, nature walks, sketching in the grounds and cross-country running, to name but a few.

To ensure our children get the best opportunities, we regularly take them out to participate in sporting competitions, musical concerts, community activities and so on. In addition to this, all children appear in a theatrical production each year and the whole school participates in regular church services and celebrations.

As a church school, everything we do and all decisions we make are underpinned by strong Christian values; this ensures we are always putting the best interests of the pupils first. Our pupils, parents and staff treat each other respectfully and enjoy working together; our pupils’ behaviour is also superb and we are always proud to take them out to represent the school. Fun, enjoyment and new experiences are very important at our school as we believe that a love of learning comes from feeling happy, supported, challenged and fulfilled.

We have a fantastic PTA and parent body who work tirelessly to enhance our caring and supportive community for the benefit of all, organising great social events for both pupils and parents and often raising money to benefit the children too. All families are made to feel welcome and soon become part of our wider community.

If you would like to look around our school or would like to chat about your child and what we can offer them, please don’t hesitate to phone the school office to arrange a visit. Seeing our school and pupils in action will tell you more than I ever can.
