Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
The whole school had a fabulous trip out to The Watermill in Donnington We watched their production of The Prince and the Pauper in which all the actors also played various instruments and sang some great songs. An ice cream provided by the PTA was the icing on the cake!
Well done to the 14 children from Years 4-6 choir who sang carols to a group of adults with learning disabilities. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the singing and joined in with great enthusiasm, both singing and playing percussion. A really powerful experience for the children as well to find that people from all walks of life can get joy from music.
We were all thoroughly entertained by the performance of Christmas Counts given by Mrs Sheppard’s and Mrs Carney’s classes. The children spoke, acted and sang with confidence and expression and the story had a good mix of funny and serious so we came away thinking of the wonder of Christmas. Thank you to all who were involved in the preparation of this performance.
We decided to team up with St Mark's to support the Christmas Shoe box Appeal once more. This year we managed to fill an amazing 24 boxes from the school; added to those from the church we made a total of more than 60!
Our Year 5/6 pupils gave a stunning performance at the West Berks Schools’ Carol Service at Douai Abbey on Weds 4th December. About 10 local schools took part and we had 2 readers plus our performance of Child in a Manger Born. I know the parents who attended felt very proud of our children and a couple of other Headteachers commented on how well they sang, one saying that they sounded like a church choir.
