  • Goodbye Year 6

    Tue 20 Jul 2021

On Tuesday 20th July 2021 we said goodbye to 13 fantastic Year 6 pupils. They have shown great resilience and fortitude over the past two years, putting up with restrictions and separation in a very mature way. They have kept smiling and kept supporting each other.

We have been lucky to have them as part of our school community and we know their secondary schools will be delighted to receive each and every one of them.

Good luck, Year 6. Go forwards with confidence, aim high, be the best version of you that you can be.

  • 'Sowing the seeds for a flourishing future’ Collage

    Tue 20 Jul 2021

This beautiful collage, made by Year 6 with the help of Ms Alvarado, and birds provided by each class, will be going up in the hall.

This will be a lovely reminder of our Vision, our motto and of this super group of pupils.

  • Farewell Mrs Kidd

    Tue 20 Jul 2021

Englefield shone for Mrs Kidd’s last day with us. We had a touching farewell from the children during the Leavers Service followed by a celebration with staff, governors and ex-colleagues hosted in the gardens of Englefield House by the Benyon family. Thank you to the many people who donated to Julia's collection; she went away with two beautiful framed pictures of the school, a serving platter, a Raku pot made by Mrs Watts, an illustrated Bible and vouchers for a Spa weekend. She was overwhelmed by the number of gifts and good wishes.

  • Tennis and Archery Tag

    Fri 16 Jul 2021

    Tennis

Damian Lane, who coaches at Pangbourne Tennis Club, came to give the KS2 pupils a try-out. He was very impressed with the two classes and hopes that some of the pupils will consider joining one of the local clubs.

    Archery Tag

The KS2 pupils (and staff) had a brilliant time on the field playing archery tag. We found a few excellent archers and it was a great introduction to a sport a little out of the norm.

  • Rushall Farm Residential

    Wed 14 Jul 2021

We were thrilled to be able to take the whole of Years 5 and 6 for two nights’ camping at Rushall Farm in Bradfield. The children (and staff) loved making their two man tents snuggly and actually slept much better than expected. The weather was very kind to us and we missed all the torrential rain...someone was smiling down on us! Our days were filled with activities: den-building in the woods, a walk to Bradfield College for a swim, a campfire with obligatory singing, pond-dipping, raft-building for a teddy, river-dipping (which involved many exciting finds and was great fun in our over-sized waders!), a visit to the farm and a talent show. A huge thank you to Miss Langston, Mrs Rose and Mrs Carney for giving up their own family time to be with the children and to Sandra and the other staff at Rushall Farm for making us feel so welcome.

  • Cateriing Award

    Fri 02 Jul 2021

Well done to Anita, our fantastic cook, who was presented with a special award by Caterlink, our catering company. A representative said, “She is never off, never refuses to do anything and gives 100% to her job, has total knowledge of her role, and as such,  I have always used her as a ‘buddy’ for any new starters within the West Berks contract.” She was awarded with flowers, a certificate and a voucher as a token of their appreciation.
