Nine intrepid Year 5/6 pupils set off to Bradfield College today to take part in a Kwik Cricket tournament with 9 other local schools. The teams were split into two leagues - ours was the Trent Bridge league.
The weather was kind and we ended up with perfect cricketing weather.
The confidence and the skills of the team grew enormously as the day went on, and some extra coaching in the nets from the Bradfield College sixth-formers really helped.
We managed to clean bowl 9 children, Will did a super catch off Toby's bowling, Jennifer took a wicket caught and bowled, and Boston finished off with a catch of his own.
Many runs were scored, with our top three batters being Luke (3 sixes and 2 fours), Boston (3 sixes and 5 fours) and Will (5 sixes and 5 fours).
Every member of the team did their bit and the support for each other was excellent.
Overall we came second in our league - WELL DONE, TEAM!
The teamwork and sportsmanship was superb and we will be proud to take this team out again to future competitions.
