Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Having postponed Sports Day from last Friday and with a terrible forecast, we were not sure we would go ahead today. However, the weather was kind, the children enthusiastic and the staff keen and ready to go.
We had a fabulous day with the younger children competing in the morning and the older ones in the afternoon. Other classes were able to come out onto the field in their bubbles to cheer on the races.
The children enjoyed an ice lolly in the sunshine while we read out the winners' podium places which were the same for KS1, KS2 and overall:
1st - Poseidon 2nd - Athena 3rd - Demeter 4th - Hermes
Congratulations to Poseidon for coming first and well done to all our fantastic competitors...you were great!
Some of our Year 1 pupils spotted this beautiful stag beetle watching their Sports Day events.
This week the class set off around the Englefield Estate to learn about countryside jobs and activities at the Englefield Countryside Day. Schools from around the area came to the village but Covid restrictions were adhered to. The children had a great day learning about arable farming, being a game-keeper, having a go at tiling and finding out about the history of St Mark’s. Thank you to Englefield Estate for putting on such a great learning experience.
