Book Week

All classes had a wonderful week playing with words and writing poetry. Mrs Kelley’s library quiz kept everyone busy at break times and the reading session on Wednesday afternoon when all staff read a story and some poetry to a group of children worked really well. The
highlights on World Book Day were our poetry finals followed by workshops with

Mr Nick Parker.
Mr Parker and Mrs Woodward had the unenviable task of judging the poetry competition. The fourteen finalists were: Ella (FS2) Eva (FS2), Amelia (Y1), Matthew (Y1), Darcey (Y2), Logan (Y2), Isla (Y3), Boston (Y3), Laurie (Y4), Sofia (Y4), Alistair (Y5), Joshua (Y5), Sarah-Renae (Y6) and Isabelle (Y6). The standard of presentation was extremely high but we finally decided on five winners: Ella, Eva, Darcey, Sofia and Joshua. Well done to everyone. We are hoping to publish ananthology of all the pupils’ poems from this week which we hope to make available for parents to buy very soon.
